I came home to find a package from Logos Graphics in San Francisco. I was highest bidder in an auction to benefit Hand Papermaking magazine. It was a round mould and deckle made by John Sullivan. The Annual Auction is so fun to watch and bid. I missed out on some broadsides, but was thrilled when I found out I'd won the mould & deckle. When it came with the three sheets of round paper that were pictured in the auction visual, I was pleasantly surprised. I can hardly wait to make some round paper! That will have to wait until August 1st when my new studio for papermaking gets underway. Fellow collaborator Katherine Engen and I have to sign papers but we finally will have a place to put our beater. I have been getting ready. I have been gathering cotton rag to cut and also purchased five pounds of Belgium flax at the auction so I will be doing fiber prep in the weeks ahead.
